Will help educate, engage and expand the upland conservation community

Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever are proud to announce Levi Day has been hired as the new conservation leadership program manager. In his new role, Day will help grow the organization’s nationwide community of upland habitat conservationists.

“Levi’s experience sets him up perfectly for his new position,” said Colby Kerber, Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever’s director of conservation education programs. “He’s a proven leader, and is incredibly passionate about wildlife conservation. He’ll be a great addition to our team, and I look forward to working alongside him to help widen our community and create the next generation of conservation professionals.”

As part of his position, Day will manage Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever’s Journey to Conservation Careers (J2CC) program. J2CC is a national, online initiative aimed at introducing high school students to careers in conservation. Through J2CC students have the unique opportunity to build hands-on experience, including a chance to job shadow a local conservation professional.

Before coming to Pheasants Forever, Day was the director of athletics at Treasure Valley Community College in Ontario, Oregon. Prior to that he was a teacher at several school districts in Oregon and Idaho. He holds a masters degree in exercise science from California University of Pennsylvania, and a bachelors of science in elementary education from Eastern Oregon University.

“I’m incredibly excited about the chance to work for Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever,” Day said. “I’ve always been passionate about helping young people, and to be able to combine that with my love of conservation is an incredible opportunity.”
