Local chapter volunteer is prepared to advocate for the future of The Habitat Organization

Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever are proud to introduce Austin Roby as the new regional representative for Ohio and West Virginia. With his leadership skills and conservation experience, Roby will work with local chapters to further the organization's goal of improving public and private lands habitat for pheasants, quail, and other wildlife.

“Austin is armed with a steadfast commitment to environmental stewardship and a proven track record of executing impactful initiatives,” said Matt Christensen, Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever’s director of chapter and volunteer services. “He is eager to contribute his expertise to further advance the mission of PF and QF.”

Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever empower county and local chapters with the responsibility to determine how 100 percent of their locally raised conservation funds will be spent - the only national conservation organization that operates through this grassroots structure. As a result, chapter volunteers can see the fruits of their efforts locally, while belonging to a larger national organization with a voice on federal and state conservation policy. Roby will help guide local chapters to achieve the organizations mission in his region.

Roby has served the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District as a natural resources manager for several years and has also worked for the soil and water conservation programs of Fulton and Putnam counties. Additionally, he has volunteered for the Hardin County Pheasants Forever chapter for many years and has a B.S. in forestry, fisheries, and wildlife management from The Ohio University. Outside of work, Roby enjoys hunting with his Labrador retrievers, Bella and Sadie, and his English Setter, Maggie, as well as beekeeping with 25 active hives.

“I have always been a strong advocate of The Habitat Organization,” Roby said. “I am prepared to further our mission using my experience in natural resources management combined with my passion for the organization and its volunteers.”
