Virginia Adds Quail Forever Chapter

b7df052d-7cf2-46b1-b473-e893da81ee72 Quail Forever continues to grow in Virginia with the formation of the Rockbridge Chapter of Quail Forever, serving Rockbridge County, VA and the surrounding area.

This is Quail Forever’s third chapter in the Old Dominion State, and John Wallace, Quail Forever regional field representative for Ohio, West Virginia and Virginia, says interest in bringing quail back to Virginia’s landscape is growing.

“The interest in Virginia for bobwhite quail is exciting to see,” said Wallace. “And this group of volunteers has a core of young leadership ready to get to work. With their efforts and the ongoing efforts of the surrounding Quail Forever chapters, the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, and the Natural Resources Conservation Service, the future of quail in Virginia is very bright!”

Wallace said the Rockbridge Quail Forever chapter will focus its conservation efforts on public land restoration, as well as with teaming up with local farmers interested in changing their grazing pastures over to warm season grasses, with a mission statement of "What’s good for the bird is good for the herd."

The Rockbridge chapter’s next meeting will be Monday, November 4th at 7:00 PM at Brew Ridge Taps in downtown Lexington Virginia. Anyone interested is urged to attend.

The inaugural chapter banquet is currently set for early March, and anyone with an interest in the group can find out more information about the chapter and communicate with members via Facebook, Instagram, or email at
