October 27, 2026 – Wall, S.D. – Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever are proud to introduce Orey Fricke as the new regional representative for South Dakota. Fricke will partner with active chapter volunteers to contribute to the organization's goals of improving public and private lands conservation efforts for pheasants, quail and other wildlife.

“I’m very excited to see Orey connect with our chapter volunteers,” said Matt Christensen, PF & QF’s director of chapter and volunteer services. “He has a very strong history within our organization and as an upland habitat enthusiast. I have no doubts these qualifications will make him an incredible servant to our members in the state.”

Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever empower county and local chapters with the responsibility to determine how 100 percent of their locally raised conservation funds will be spent - the only national conservation organization that operates through this grassroots structure. As a result, chapter volunteers can see the fruits of their efforts locally, while belonging to a larger national organization with a voice on federal and state conservation policy. Fricke will help guide local chapters to achieve the organization’s mission in South Dakota.

Fricke has spent the past three years with PF & QF as a farm bill biologist, first in Nebraska before transitioning to South Dakota. During this time, he has created many habitat improvement plans, partnered with landowners to develop their conservation goals, and has assisted with volunteer-led events. Fricke’s work has thoroughly prepared him for his new position by strengthening his ability to build relationships, communicate effectively, and develop practical conservation solutions that benefit both wildlife and working lands.

“I am honored to bring my previous experience and passion for the uplands to this new role,” Fricke said. “The opportunity to support the volunteers and chapters who are actively creating conservation impact in their communities is especially meaningful to me, and I welcome the opportunity to contribute to that mission across South Dakota.”
