Event Checklist for Chapters
Follow this checklist while planning your Learn to Shoot event.
1. Form a Planning Team
If the event is for adults, submit a grant application at least two weeks prior to the event to receive reimbursement for 50% of event expenses up to $500.
2. Create Event and Recruit Participants
Create an online event by logging in to our Upland Events Platform with your chapter login information (ex: ch0001).
Promote the event on social media and at local outdoor focused businesses.
If this event is for women, use our Women on the Wing Brand Guide for all printouts and advertising materials.
3. Insurance
Submit completed Volunteer Liability Coverage Form to insurance@pheasantsforever.org at least 24 hours prior to the event.
Ensure that you are adhering to our safety policies for Learn to Hunt Events.
4. Host the event!
Check registered participants in at the event using your mobile device:
Everyone at the event (participants & volunteers) must sign a Participant & Volunteer Firearms Waiver — retain these for 12 months.
Have fun and take lots of photos!
5. Report
If you created your event electronically and checked participants in with the point of sale app, no further reporting is required.
If you didn't, reach out to your Regional Field Representative for assistance getting those numbers recorded in our system or reference the E & O Event Attendee Reporting Tutorial.
Congratulations and thank you for guiding new shooters into the field!
