Yellowstone Valley Chapter Annual Youth Hunt​​​​​​​​

The Yellowstone Valley Chapter of Pheasants Forever will host its 32nd Annual Youth Hunt on September 12, 2026. Any youth 15 years old or younger that has passed Hunters’ Safety and has a valid Montana hunting license is eligible to participate free of charge. Space is limited and is filled on a first-come basis. Participants must pre-register, and repeat attendees are welcome.

There are three time slots available, and each hunt will last about two hours. Prior to going to the field, participants must demonstrate safety and complete shooting practice at the clay pigeon station under the guidance of a professional shooting instructor. Participants will be accompanied in the field by a dog handler and a mentor. A free lunch will be provided for all participants.

Participants that have their own shotgun are encouraged to bring them. We will have a 20 gauge youth shotgun available if participants do not have a suitable shotgun. Participants should wear suitable clothing for the weather, including sturdy shoes/boots.
