The 2026 Mid Iowa Youth Event is hosted by the following partners:
Northern Polk PF Chapter, Iowa Capitol PF Chapter, Jasper County PF Chapter, Boone County PF Chapter, Delta Waterfowl, and the Iowa DNR.

PF & QF’s Youth Learn to Hunt events are all about getting kids outside, learning new skills, and having fun in the field. With hands-on activities, safe instruction, and exciting first hunts, young participants gain confidence, connect with nature, and create memories that last a lifetime.

Participants can plan on learning about: Archery, Hunter safety basics, Firearm handling and shooting. Participants will learn how to communicate about their firearm effectively and develop firearm handling, shooting, and cleaning skills. Upland Bird Harvesting and Processing: We'll discuss ethics and field etiquette as well as safe shooting. We'll demonstrate bird processing and discuss lead vs. non-toxic ammunition.
