Making Tracks
While on a recent walk on the prairie near his home in northwest Oklahoma, Quail Forever Journal Editor Chad Love came across the meandering tracks of a lone, wandering bobwhite quail.

Southern Indiana
Ryan Lynton of Warrick County, Indiana is excited about his Brittany pup, Creek, and her first wild quail. "I downed the bird and likely wouldn't have found it without her nose."

Congratulations, Ryan and Creek!

Nebraska Uplands
Veiled by soft morning sunlight and native prairie grass,"Yeti" a German shorthaired pointer owned by PF & QF Education and Outreach Program Manager Marissa Jensen, locks up on birds somewhere in the Nebraska uplands. Jensen says, "I love this little dog, more than I can put into words. She's full of grit and determination, without losing her head or her heart. If I could have 5,000 Yeti's in a lifetime, it still wouldn't be enough. But then again, there's really only one Yeti, and she will always be more than enough."

A Trio of Nebraska Bobs
Leo, an English setter owned by Quail Forever Editor Chad Love, sniffs a trio of public-access Nebraska bobs he helped find on a recent hunt during the state's quail opener.

Oklahoma Honor
Brian Carroll, DVM, sent in this gorgeous image of a trio of dogs locked up on a covey of bobs somewhere in Oklahoma. He says, "there's nothing like wading into a boiling rise of bobs in a sandy sea of sage, plum and little blue..."

West Point, Mississippi
Mississippi State University grad student Olivia Lappin sent in this awesome photo of her holding a radio-collared bobwhite quail while doing field research. Olivia says she is researching bobwhite quail for her master's degree.

She says, "I am researching bobwhite for my Masters degree at Mississippi State. This research allows me to capture quail through various capture methods and attach bands and radio collars to each bird. Attaching radio collars allows myself and my technicians to track the birds locations each day to keep up with resource use, mortality, and nesting! This is one of my favorite photos of a male who we recaptured during a mist netting attempt!"

Otoe County, NE
Quail Forever life-member Ben Sattler captured this pic wrapping up an evening hunt while out on an annual hunting trip to eastern Nebraska this past fall. He enjoyed a phenomenal upland season in the state chasing his English Setter, Harvey.
