Louisiana Gains a New Quail Forever Chapter

May 28, 2025 – Shreveport, Lou. –  The Habitat Organization is proud to introduce the newest Quail Forever (QF) chapter in Louisiana. The Red River Chapter of Quail Forever will cover Caddo, Bossier, and Webster Parishes. The group is excited to do various local habitat projects, and to learn more about conservation efforts for upland birds and other wildlife.

Unique among national conservation organizations, chapters of Quail Forever retain 100 percent decision-making control over fundraising dollars, allowing volunteers to support impactful wildlife habitat projects, public access initiatives and conservation education programs throughout the upland bird range. QF’s Louisiana regional representative, Jason Kindall, will work closely with the new chapter to support the organization’s vision to sustain abundant populations of wild quail, pheasants and other wildlife.

“The breadth of experiences across the group is pretty phenomenal - we have beekeepers, homesteaders, previous bird hunters, current and very passionate bird hunters, as well as landowners who are looking to improve wildlife habitat on their property,” Kindall said. “They have a lot of energy and deep interest in getting involved in grass roots conservation. This combination of varied interests and backgrounds coupled with a drive to make things better for wildlife is pretty inspiring and impressive.”

Chapter volunteers are thrilled to be a part of expanding the local chapter model in the state, and to continue to introduce more people to the organization. They look forward to improving habitat for upland species and sharing the organization’s mission.

The next meeting of the Red River Chapter of Quail Forever will be on June 17th, 2025 at 6:00 pm CST at the Silver Star Cantina — 5212 Airline Dr. Bossier City, LA 71111.
