Nick Shigouri’s hunting buddy, Teddy, is a 50/50 Irish/Gordon setter who looks almost all Gordon. After a friend’s recommendation and some thorough research, Shigouri felt the Gordon setter fit well with his type of hunting “as they (Gordon setters) hunt close and are built for endurance, in addition to being very versatile insofar as hunting quail, pheasant, and duck.”

“Teddy was from a farm in Golden City, MO. I got Teddy the day he turned 6 weeks old, and as soon as I saw him, I knew THAT was the dog I wanted as he was ‘complaining’ by way of little grunts and was very visually responsive. He is an extremely intelligent and assertive dog with strong command skills, which are only surpassed by his nose. He is able to find a pebble rubbed in my hands and thrown into a field at night in under 2 minutes. He ‘talks’ a lot and is an amazingly sweet dog who loves people, specifically children. Teddy allowed me to triple on quail in what was his first covey ever back in 2010 – a feat I have never done before or since,” said Shigouri.
