Quail Forever Life Member, Denny Kirkham, grew up a passionate quail hunter in the late 1950's, a time when quail were very abundant in southwest Illinois. As populations plummeted, Kirkham quit raising hunting dogs and took up deer/turkey hunting. In his 50's, Kirkham was introduced to "The Habitat Organization" and became very active in habitat restoration through his local Quail Forever chapter. 

Kirkham says, "As I retried, I got back into training a dog to bird hunt. I really enjoy a solid point and good retrieve from my Drahthaar, Jake. He's been an important part in wingshooting clinics and hunts the chapter has conducted over the last few years for youth and women."
