Volunteers will bring together like-minded women for hunting and habitat conservation
Quail Forever is proud to announce the launch of a new Women on the Wing Chapter (WOTW) in western and central Tennessee. The Tri-Star Covey Chapter aims to foster camaraderie, confidence, and conservation leadership among women of all experience levels.
Unique among national conservation organizations, chapters of Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever retain 100 percent decision-making control over fundraising dollars, allowing volunteers to support impactful wildlife habitat projects, public access initiatives, and conservation education programs throughout the upland bird range. QF’s Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi regional representative, Mike Acker, will work closely with the new chapter to support the organization’s vision to sustain abundant populations of wild quail and other upland wildlife.
“I look forward to seeing the impact a welcoming community will have, offering an opportunity for women to grow together as conservationists as they impact quail and other wildlife in Tennessee,” Acker said.
Inspired by the opportunity to build a stronger community for women in the outdoors, chapter president Nicole Hulsey hopes the chapter will provide educational opportunities that unite women around conservation and outdoor skills. Through social events, hands-on habitat work, and hunts, the group aims to build a strong community of women committed to wildlife conservation.
“We’re so excited for the opportunities this chapter has ahead of it,” Hulsey said. “Especially that it will draw together like-minded women who are not only interested in conservation efforts, but also hunting, educating our future generations, and giving back to our community in ways that bring joy to not only us, but all those around us too.”
