Will be responsible for state team members, habitat programs and advocacy efforts

Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever are proud to announce the promotion of Ryan Parker to Arkansas state coordinator. In his new role, Parker will drive habitat programs, lead an already talented team of field staff and work closely with partners, local chapters and other stakeholders. This work will ensure habitat continues to be recognized as a critically important driver of abundant wildlife populations while supporting sustainable agriculture, healthy soil and clean water.

“Ryan has been a key part of our team in Arkansas since he was hired in 2020,” said Tim Caughran, Quail Forever’s director of conservation delivery. “His experience makes him a perfect candidate for this new position and I’m excited to see what he can do at the helm of Quail Forever in Arkansas.”

Prior to joining Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever, Parker was a private lands wildlife biologist for Bird Conservancy of the Rockies in Colorado. He joined The Habitat Organization in 2020 as a grasslands coordinating wildlife biologist, a position he held until being offered the role of state coordinator this spring. He holds a bachelor’s degree in wildlife and fisheries biology and environmental and natural resources from the University of Wyoming, and an M.S. in biology from the University of Colorado Denver.

Parker will now coordinate and lead state level habitat and advocacy efforts in Arkansas. He’ll ensure effective conservation delivery throughout Arkansas’ quail range on both public and private lands. Parker will also help build new and existing landscape-level habitat initiatives.

“I have a deep passion for fostering partnerships with NGOs, state and federal agencies, private land owners and university professionals in Arkansas, and I think that sets me up well for this new role,” Parker said. “Quail Forever in Arkansas has a cohesive team dynamic, great collaboration and excellent leadership — I look forward to seeing what we can all accomplish together in the coming years.”
