Yuma, the dove hunter’s paradise, is ready for yet another year of dove season. If you have never been to Yuma or have not heard about the dove hunting there, you have been missing out! In addition to providing some of the best wingshooting opportunities to be found, the community is also known for rolling out the red carpet and welcoming hunters from all over the country.

Quail Forever is a partner in the event, and the season promises multiple events over opening weekend along with an unforgettable hunting experience with not one or two but three species of doves. The events this season include a youth hunt, barbeque, cook off, and a Women on the Wing women’s hunt, among others.

The close of the season also brings the community together for a post-hunt clean up event to help maintain hunting access on private lands used by hunters. Many organizations such as Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD), Yuma Valley Rod and Gun Club (YVRGC), City of Yuma, Sprague’s Sport, Visit Yuma, and Quail Forever work together to support different events throughout the city.

Another unique thing about this season are the partnership fields. Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) has been partnering with private landowners to provide access to the visiting hunters during dove season. In this arrangement, with a little financial and technical assistance from AZGFD, landowners prepare the field for the hunters and the hunters clean up after themselves as a courtesy to the landowner.

If you are a dove hunter and are looking for a place to hunt this season with your family, look no further! Yuma is the place you need to be at. So buy your hunting license today and meet us in Yuma.
