Quail Forever continues its strong growth in Missouri with the formation of the new Spring River Chapter of Quail Forever, based in Jasper County and serving Jasper and surrounding counties in southwestern Missouri.

“We couldn’t be more excited to have a chapter in the southwest corner of the state.  It is an area with a lot of potential for habitat restoration,” said John Wallace, Quail Forever regional field representative for Missouri, Arkansas, and Louisiana. “To finally have a dedicated group of passionate individuals located there who are ready to make an impact gets me pretty excited for the opportunities that will be coming for those communities.”

The Spring River chapter joins 19 other Quail Forever chapters in the Show-Me state.

Many of the new Spring River chapter members have children and want to make sure they have opportunities to experience the outdoors and hunting, so youth outreach and education – especially engaging kids in shooting sports and other R3-related activities –  will be a primary focus of the new chapter, along with getting habitat on the ground to benefit quail, pollinators, and other wildlife.

The Spring Valley chapter is already planning its inaugural banquet, and the next meeting will take place Thursday, June 6th at 6:30 p.m. at the USDA Service Center, 416 E. Airport Dr. in Carthage, MO.
Anyone interested in joining or learning more about the Spring River chapter can reach out through the chapter’s Facebook page or by contacting chapter president Carl Hutchison at (620) 249-8951 or by e-mail at hutch354@live.com.
