Carries over two decades of experience advocating for upland habitat

Pheasants Forever (PF) and Quail Forever (QF) are proud to name Tim Caughran as the first director of federal partnerships. He joins the government affairs team after spending the past 22 years with PF & QF in various roles. His new duties will include collaborating with federal agency partners, identifying opportunities for new partnerships and funding sources, educating federal officials and employees on PF & QF’s vision and impact, and working directly with the conservation operations team to set goals for impactful public-private collaborations.

"I’m thrilled to welcome Tim to our PF & QF government affairs team and to have him representing us with our federal partners," said Ariel Wiegard, Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever vice president of government affairs. "He has played a pivotal role in helping grow ‘The Habitat Organization’ into what it is today. His energy, creativity, and deep commitment to conservation will be a huge asset as we continue building strong public-private partnerships that support upland habitat, hunters, rural communities, and the agricultural and grassland landscapes we hold dear."

Caughran has previously served PF & QF as a habitat specialist, regional representative, field manager, director of Quail Forever field operations, and most recently – South region director of conservation delivery. Each role has given him experience working with state and federal partners, upland biologists and the organization’s fundraising efforts.

“I’m thrilled to be the next force multiplier on the government affairs team,” Caughran said “This position has the potential to chart a very successful course for the future of our organization and upland bird populations, and I want to be on the front lines helping to make that happen.”
