Jun-27-2008 - Ron, Raven, and Pheasants Forever Television are back for the fourth season of the popular outdoor variety show. The show is slotted to air on Outdoor Channel on Thursdays at 10PM CDT / 11PM EDT, Fridays at 10AM CDT / 11AM EDT and again on Saturdays at 5:30PM CDT / 6:30PM EDT. Season four of Pheasants Forever Television will debut on Thursday, July 3rd at 10PM CDT / 11PM EDT. Season four of Pheasants Forever Television begins at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, an institution known for its agriculture and engineering programs...and its Pheasants Forever chapter – the first university Pheasants Forever chapter in the nation! ...more
Coming Soon to Outdoor Channel: Pheasants Forever TelevisionMay-19-2008 - Pheasants Forever (PF) announces the stars of Pheasants Forever Television – pheasants, quail, bird dogs, and wildlife habitat conservationists – will return for a fourth season of the popular outdoor show, coming to Outdoor Channel in 2008. The official season schedule of times will be released at a later date. Wildlife Groups Celebrate Centennial of Conservation ConferenceMay-15-2008 - The leaders of the nation’s top hunting and wildlife conservation organizations celebrated the visionary leadership of President Theodore Roosevelt at the Department of the Interior today while laying the groundwork for a plan to carry conservation efforts forward in the 21st Century. Together with the Chairman of the White House Council on Environmental Quality and the Secretaries of the Department of the Interior and Department of Agriculture, the groups reflected on Roosevelt’s 1908 Conference of Governors that marked a turning point in natural resource conservation in this nation. More importantly, the centennial celebration set the stage for a fall conference on wildlife policy that will include the Administration, bi-partisan Members of Congress and others to establish a plan to enhance wildlife conservation and perpetuate the tradition of hunting in this nation. ...more
Finally Closing in on a Farm BillApr-25-2008 - Key House and Senate farm bill negotiators reached agreement today on the main elements of the farm bill, with details to be presented to all conferees Monday. The agreement appears to provide an additional $4 billion for conservation programs, including $1.1 billion for the Conservation Security Program, a priority of Senate Agriculture Chairman Tom Harkin. ...more
Nebraska PF/QF State Habitat Meeting Offers Landowners Expert Wildlife ConsultingJan-31-2008 - Nebraska landowners won't want to miss the opportunity to receive free one-on-one advice from expert wildlife biologists and specialists versed in habitat programs at the Nebraska Pheasants Forever (PF) and Quail Forever (QF) 2008 State Habitat Meeting on Saturday, February 2nd in Grand Island. The state meeting is home to the popular Landowner Help Desk, where landowners can receive wildlife habitat advice from wildlife professionals at no cost. The Landowner Habitat Help Desk is designed to give farmers and landowners site-specific information about conservation programs they can implement on their land. Biologists will use aerial photography, topography, and soils information to do individual planning. Landowners just need to bring the legal description of their property (township, range, and section). Through a one-on-one consultation, landowners will have the opportunity to learn about conservation and habitat options on their land available through federal, state and local programs. ...more
