Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever Appoint Owen Stockdale to National Board of Directors

Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever are pleased to announce the appointment of Owen Stockdale to its National Board of Directors. Stockdale, a high impact business leader for global agriculture/natural resources institutions and passionate upland conservationist, joins the 17-member board which meets regularly and oversees the operations of Pheasants Forever, Inc. and Quail Forever.

“As a global business leader, Owen brings a unique skillset to The Habitat Organization to help transform and improve the efficiency of our habitat conservation mission,” said Marilyn Vetter, Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever’s president and CEO. “No stranger to the important work we deliver every day throughout America’s pheasant and quail range, Owen is an Elite member, a bird hunter, and has invested personal time and energy to help the organization succeed at multiple levels – we’re lucky to have his talents as part of the National Board of Directors.”    

Stockdale attended Princeton University and graduated with a BSE degree in Operations Research & Financial Engineering before earning his MBA from Harvard University in 2007. He is currently a Senior Partner at McKinsey & Company, a global management consulting firm, where he leads the company’s global Agriculture Practice, advising companies across the agriculture value chain on strategy, operations, sustainability, and growth. 

As a Pheasants Forever Gold Patron Member and an ardent supporter, Stockdale formerly led McKinsey & Company’s pro-bono support of Pheasants Forever’s national strategy efforts in 2012. Additionally, he served on the National Campaign Steering Committee for the organization’s successful Call of the Uplands® national campaign which recently sunset with more than $565 million raised and 11 million upland acres improved throughout North America in the past six years. Rounding out his affinity for conservation, Stockdale is currently in the process of restoring a 40-acre prairie and wetland complex in Iowa with the expertise of a Pheasants Forever Farm Bill wildlife biologist.

Owen and his wife, Becca, spend time between Okoboji, Iowa and Eden Priairie Minnesota. They have three boys Ben (7), Gus (7), and Ned (3), along with a Labrador retriever, Birdie, who recently became a Dog Life Member at the 2023 National Pheasant Fest & Quail Classic in Minneapolis. His outside interests include upland hunting, retriever training, fly fishing, hiking, and coaching youth sports.
