Quail hunters and conservationists are pushing for the comeback of bobwhites in the Southeast with a burst of new Quail Forever chapter starts in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama. Working with private landowners and public landscapes alike, the new committees are motivated to bring back the whistle of bobwhite quail through habitat conservation projects in their respective regions.
The new ranks of motivated Southeast volunteers will utilize the organization’s signature grassroots fundraising model, empowering each chapter with 100 percent decision-making control over the funds they raise at banquets and other events. This allows chapters to conduct habitat and youth education projects in their own communities, while belonging to a national organization with a voice regarding state and federal conservation policy. The results are significant habitat conservation projects being implemented for quail and other wildlife throughout bobwhite focal areas of the Southeast.
“Whether it’s engaging college students at Clemson University in wildlife conservation or witnessing a spark from lifelong quail hunters who want to witness thriving quail populations once again in the Southeast, the commitment for our mission in this region is extraordinary,” stated Kenny Barker, regional representative for Quail Forever in Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas.

Alabama Black Belt Quail Forever
- The Alabama Black Belt Chapter of Quail Forever has elected Brent Boswell of Fitzpatrick as president, Justin Green of Union Springs as vice president, Justin Clark of Montgomery as treasurer, Robert Moorer of Union Springs as banquet/habitat chair, and Don Larkins of Midway as youth/education chair.
