Upland Super Issue: Bucket List Hunts, Epic Mixed Bags, Bird Dog Profiles, and Habitat Tips

Introducing the most comprehensive preseason publication assembled for upland hunting and conservation, Pheasants Forever & Quail Forever has announced an Upland Bird Hunting Super Issue which will be mailed to all the organization’s members in September 2017. The Super Issue - one special mega-edition covering multiple species and topics - will include bucket list hunts, upland gear innovations, passionate stories afield, bird dog profiles, habitat tips, and photo galleries that speak to America’s upland hunting past, present, and future.

The Upland Bird Hunting Super Issue will reach all of Pheasants Forever & Quail Forever’s 135,000 adult members.  The new issue replaces the Pheasant Hunting Preview issue for PF members and is a brand new fifth issue for Quail Forever members. The upcoming Super issue includes stories from across the uplands; including, pheasants, quail, prairie grouse, ruffed grouse, woodcock, ptarmigan, Hungarian partridge, and chukar. Featured content for the first-ever combined publication will include:

  • Photo galleries: Feathers, upland tattoos, and the evolution of a bird dog
  • The upland bird pilgrimage: A hunter’s journey for the North American grand slam
  • Gear review: Jackets, vests, and upland innovations
  • Bucket list hunts to Alaska, Minnesota, North Dakota, Kansas, and Nebraska
  • South Dakota review: Celebrating 100 years of pheasant hunting
“For many of us, walking the uplands with our bird dog accounts for the best days of our lives. On one level, this new issue celebrates those moments and that treasured heritage,” stated Bob St. Pierre, vice president of marketing for Pheasants Forever & Quail Forever. “On a deeper level, the ranks of bird hunters have declined in recent years. Part of our organization’s role is to generate more excitement around bird hunting and, in turn, habitat conservation. This issue is part of our organization’s larger approach to energizing the bird hunting community so we continue to remain a voice for pheasants, quail, habitat, pollinators, water quality, public lands and our outdoor lifestyle in the halls of Washington, D.C., in the board rooms of the outdoors industry, and on main street America.”
