In an effort to highlight the organization’s growing impact on
quail habitat across America’s Great Plains, Quail Forever joins Pheasants Forever’s
Rooster Road Trip 2016 - Upland Nation for a second week of public lands upland hunting. A fresh group of wingshooters will head to Oklahoma for the state’s quail opener with online reports starting on Monday, November 14
th, and further reports from Kansas and Nebraska throughout the week.
First conceived in 2010, Rooster Road Trip highlights the organization’s habitat efforts on publicly accessible land. Pheasants Forever, Quail Forever, and an extensive network of volunteer members have been responsible for millions of acres of land being improved as wildlife habitat and opened for public access through land purchases, restoration projects, and/or legislative action.
“The message underlying our Rooster Road Trip efforts is that membership in Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever will create more birds and more places to chase them with your family, friends, and bird dogs,” explains Bob St.Pierre, Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever’s vice president of marketing.
“And as we planned this year’s trip, we looked at the growth of our Quail Forever membership and the explosion in quail populations in the Great Plains and a second leg became an obvious addition,” added Jared Wiklund, Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever’s public relations manager.
